Aerial Ropeway groups

Hi Aerial Ropeway groups,

Following the last class where some of you were having trouble I've followed my tutorial regarding animating geometry using bones in CryENGINE: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lh5MJWPTknQ

In contrast to you, I wasn't able to export anything at all to the earlier versions of CryENGINE. I kept receiving an error which I believe was related to 3dsMax (the export process worked fine from SketchUp to both early engines I tried).

However I was able to get models exported, and animations working (following the tutorial above) using 3ds Max 2013 x64 and the "3.5.4 - Build 1509" version of the editor. The only update to the tutorial would be to mention that as you save the *.caf files you now have the option to save them as *.i_caf ... which I did the first time and they don't show up in the flowgraph Animations:PlayAnimation node. So make sure when you create them save them as a *.caf type file.

If you animated your ropes in 3dsMax then I could export them to the new engine and give you the files ... I'm guessing they would be backwards compatible as the tutorial outlined above (originally created using the old engine) worked for me 9in the new one).

I did see some mention of using an alternative CryCompressor http://www.crydev.net/download/file.php?id=101260  which goes into your Bin32\rc folder.

I'm having trouble getting more detail as the Crydev documentation pages are currently unavailable.

Post in the comments if you have any updates or were able to fix it.

Regards
