Aerial Ropeway opportunity to show the work

Hi Aerial Ropeway groups,

John Merson called yesterday and asked if anyone was available to present their projects next Wednesday out at Katoomba. I'm not able to go as I'm at a conference ... but I would encourage you to seriously consider it.

As an alternative we can send them links to the videos and still images you have captured of the final environments.

Let me know what you would like to do.

Regards

Below is a list of opportunities to increase your individual grades before the final submission:

2. Being able to move the display data panel have more than one profile visible in the display panel
3. Importing two other churches, Nouvion and Bionnesvalyn
4. Being able to click for 4 sections and 2 plans
5. Teleporting ability with a map with location to the side so you can get in and out of the church's without having to walk the whole way.

Aerial Ropeway groups

Hi Aerial Ropeway groups,

Following the last class where some of you were having trouble I've followed my tutorial regarding animating geometry using bones in CryENGINE: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lh5MJWPTknQ

In contrast to you, I wasn't able to export anything at all to the earlier versions of CryENGINE. I kept receiving an error which I believe was related to 3dsMax (the export process worked fine from SketchUp to both early engines I tried).

However I was able to get models exported, and animations working (following the tutorial above) using 3ds Max 2013 x64 and the "3.5.4 - Build 1509" version of the editor. The only update to the tutorial would be to mention that as you save the *.caf files you now have the option to save them as *.i_caf ... which I did the first time and they don't show up in the flowgraph Animations:PlayAnimation node. So make sure when you create them save them as a *.caf type file.

If you animated your ropes in 3dsMax then I could export them to the new engine and give you the files ... I'm guessing they would be backwards compatible as the tutorial outlined above (originally created using the old engine) worked for me 9in the new one).

I did see some mention of using an alternative CryCompressor http://www.crydev.net/download/file.php?id=101260  which goes into your Bin32\rc folder.

I'm having trouble getting more detail as the Crydev documentation pages are currently unavailable.

Post in the comments if you have any updates or were able to fix it.

Regards

You'll find an email with correspondence between various members of the World Heritage team in a folder on the courses drive:

ARCH1392-CollaborationStudio\Resources\AerialRopewayInAWorldheritageEnvironment\PhillipHammon\email_2014_05_14

In it Phillip Hammon points out some detail corrections regarding the models.

Take a look and we'll discuss the changes in class.

Aerial Ropeway visit to Katoomba on Friday

hi Guys,

Thanks for volunteering!

From Group 1 I have:

1. Iqra
2. Daisy
3. Maria
4. Yen

and from Group 2 I have:

5. Shawn (will meet us there)
6. Paul
7. Elah
8. Roschelle

We'll catch the 8:18am train from Central Station, platform 7. Our hosts will come and pick us up from the Katoomba station and take us to the visitors center.

I would bring warm clothes, definitely a raincoat!, gumboots or waterproof shoes, various cameras and your notebooks; in addition to an enthusiastic and inquisitive attitude!

I thought we could catch the 4:14pm train back to Sydney in the afternoon ... but you can hang around and enjoy the sites of the Blue Mountains if you'd like; the last train back to town is around 10:20pm.

Cheers, see you then
